A look at common paintball tactics
67Regardless of your skill level when it comes to paintball it is still a good idea to be aware of common paintball tactics. One of the best reasons to be aware of common paintball tactics is so that you know what to expect when playing the game. But another reason why you should be aware of paintball tactics is so that you can guess what it is the other team is going to do or is doing and perhaps use that to your advantage. While most of the tactics are the same in the game of paintball it is how the different teams use these tactics to improve their paintball game.
Here is a look at some of the common paintball tactics.
Tactic one:
The first tactic that we are going to discuss is called flanking. Flanking is one of the oldest tactics in the book, but yet more and more people are forgetting about using it. There are different tactics that you can use when itr comes to flanking and what tactic you use will depend greatly on your terrain, your team's strengths and weaknesses, as well as what kind of game you are playing. But in general flanking is where you come up from the side of your enemy's team. Most often in paintball you will have two lines of players, one for each team, and what happens is that they come straight at each other (even though they can be hiding) rather than coming up on the sides. By coming in from the front and the sides you are creating a cross fire that your enemy can find hard to escape from.
Tactic two:
Another common tactic in paintball is to vary your routes when attacking the enemy. If you are constantly using the same route your enemy is going to be guarding that path even closer then before, but by constantly changing routes your enemy never knows where you are coming from so they might not be as prepared.
Tactic three:
Another thing to keep in mind is that in paintball you need to be quick and travel light. The less gear you are carrying the faster you can be, not to mention the quieter you can be. Also if you are carrying a lot of gear you are going to appear as a bigger target to the enemy.
Tactic four:
Another common tactic that you can use are oblique angles. This tactic is great because you are completely hidden to your enemy but they are with plain sight of you. These angles are also great for sniper shots, but the only way to figure out this tactic is through experience.
Tactic five:
The most common tactic that is used for paintball is sneakiness. In order to win this game you are going to have to be sneaky so that you can surprise the enemy teams and take them out. Basically it all boils down to which teams I the sneakiest when it comes to winning the game.
Tactic six:
Another tactic that is used is to be sure to use creeks and trenches to easily outflank the enemy. These areas are usually perceived as a boundary rather than an area that needs to be defended so you can take advantage of them to sneak up on the enemy and take the shot before they know what has happened. But be careful in using ambushes or creeks and trenches too much because sooner or later the enemy will catch on and set up a trap for you that you might not escape from.
Just keep in mind that paintball is a game of strategy, the team that develops the best strategy is the team who is going to win. When playing paintball you don't want to run out shooting every which way or else you will lose.
